JOHN W. RAY, JR.
Mr. Ray is the founder of the firm and a member of its health care group.
Before founding the firm in 1994, Mr. Ray worked in the health care group at Long, Aldridge & Norman, LLP (n/k/a, Dentons).
For the past 26 years, Mr. Ray has represented a broad array of health care providers. These providers include acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, long-term hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, large physician groups, imaging centers, radiation therapy centers, home health agencies and private duty nursing companies.
Mr. Ray has significant experience representing health care providers in proceedings before various state and federal agencies in matters that involve certificates of need, licensure and reimbursement.
Mr. Ray also has significant experience representing hospitals and physicians in disputes regarding medical staff membership and clinical privileges.
Mr. Ray has been involved in numerous cases involving managed care contracts and payor disputes.
Mr. Ray also assists our health care clients resolve day-to-day operational issues, including: governance; medical staff; EMTALA; managed care agreements; provider and employment agreements; and structuring transactions to comply with federal and state laws, including those relating to fraud and abuse, self-referral and HIPAA.
Finally, Mr. Ray assists our health care clients with various corporate matters, including acquisitions and formation of joint ventures.
